NEW MEMBER MENTORING WORKSHEET
The members of the Alamo Heights Rotary Club are pleased to welcome you into our club and help you learn and explore the many facets of Rotary.
______________________________ and ________________________have been assigned as your mentors. They will help orient you, answer questions, review your progress and guide you in completing the actions and activities described in this worksheet. It should be your goal to accomplish as many of these items as you can within the first six months of your membership. This will help you expand your vision and opportunities for Rotary service. Please indicate the date completed in the space provided next to each item and turn in this form to our Executive Secretary six months after your induction into the club.
__________1. Explore the Rotary International website at www.rotary.org. Click on “About Rotary” and include in your review the Rotary History; the 4-Way Test; and RI Mission Statement.
__________2. Explore the Alamo Heights Rotary website at www.ahrotary.org.
__________3. Explore the Alamo Heights Night® website at http://www.alamoheightsnight.org.
__________4. When you receive the notice to update your information on the club’s Fellow Pages Directory, please complete the information as soon as possible.
__________5. Attend the next new member “Fire Side Chat” to develop an understanding of our Club, our organization, and opportunities for you to serve in the club.
__________6. Attend the following club functions: Fellowship activity; Board of Directors meeting; Committee meeting.
__________7. Serve as a club greeter for four weeks.
__________8. Assist in selling door prize tickets at least one week.
__________9. Give a classification talk at a club meeting.
__________10. Participate in a club service project (other than Alamo Heights Night®*)
__________11. Maintain minimum attendance for the first 6 months: combination of at least 12 meetings or makeups or 12 service hours. (The goal is 100% attendance; the minimum is minimum to maintain active Rotary membership.)
__________12. Make up a meeting at another club with one of your mentors.
__________13. Expand Rotary to others by either or both inviting a guest to a meeting or proposing a new member.
__________14. Review committee options with your mentor(s) and volunteer to join at least one committee.
__________15. *Volunteer to participate at the next Alamo Heights Night® (all members are expected to participate).
